"No, you wouldn't understand..."

... This is what an elderly person told me today. No, I guess I wouldn't. I don't know what it's like to be unable to look after myself, to totally depend on others for the simplest things in life; a clean body, a cup of tea, a warm meal.

Every time I dress myself now I remember and am thankful. My healthy body and mind are blessings I too often take for granted. My freedom to wander wherever I want is something not everyone enjoys. To have my family around me to spend Easter with is what some people can only long for.

At least there's one thing I can do: make life a little bit better for those who are weak and those who suffer.

"...And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me." Matt. 25:40

It's just a small effort for us to give a smile, a drink or a hug to someone in need, even if noone expects you to 'go the extra mile'. And they're all around you. What will you do to show the love of Christ today?

One big way i'm trying to remember amongst doing really important work...is not to become so important that i stop listening to people, stop thinking about others and wanting to serve them. easier said then done.
