Affection is in the atmosphere
Yesterday was a busy day - I went to a wedding in Melbourne in the morning, and came back for a hen's night in the evening. That'll be two weddings within 8 days! But wait there's more - another two of my friends are getting married in March, and then another couple I know are getting married in April. The wedding was both laid-back and meaningful - the groomsmen wore footy socks and shorts with hearts on them, and each couple of the bridal party was dressed in a colour of the rainbow. A highlight was the emotional father-and-daughter dance to the song "Butterfly Kisses", and the reading of a poem composed by the groom for his mother. Instead of a conventional reception, the ceremony was followed by a carnival featuring live bands, food, jumping castles and more.
The hen's night was one of the best I've been to. It didn't go very late, and we didn't do anything excessively mean to the bride-to-be. I like it that way - everyone had a good time and no one got injured. We dressed up as farm animals (I was a cat of course), played games and socialised, before going out for coffee all dressed up. We got a few wierd looks and horn honks, but it was all part of the fun. It sounds like the buck's party was also sensible - the guys went out fishing for a couple of nights. Good stuff.
